Both bikes carry a Bosch Cargo Line motor rated at 85 Nm and 400% assist. What differs is everything around it, and whether it can ever be more than 85 Nm.

One: Bosch ABS

Two kids on the back, wet leaves on Hope Street, heading downhill into a stop sign. That is the moment it pays for itself, and it is not a moment you get to rehearse. You cannot add it later, and no other GSD under ten thousand dollars has it.

Two: it’s a Smart System bike and the P10 isn’t

eBike Alarm and GPS tracking. In a city with Brown and RISD in it, parked outside a building you do not control, that is not a novelty feature.
eBike Lock. Your phone is the key. Walk away and the motor locks itself. Nothing to carry, nothing to forget.
Over the air updates. Bosch ships new features to the drive unit over Bluetooth, so the bike gets better after you have paid for it.
Hill Hold. Stop halfway up a grade with a loaded rack and the bike holds instead of rolling back into whoever is behind you. You will use this every single ride in this city.
A Kiox display with navigation instead of Purion’s row of LEDs, and a 545 Wh battery on Bosch’s current platform rather than the 500 Wh one on the way out.
Then the Cane Creek suspension seatpost, which on 20″ wheels over Providence pavement is not a luxury item.

Plus, its entire Bosch® eBike system, including the motor, battery, and charger, is certified to UL 2849 to ensure fire safety.
