Built for the commute that leaves the city

750 Wh is the biggest battery we stock on a Gazelle. Paired with a Bosch Performance Line Speed motor at 85 Nm and assist to 28 mph, the Eclipse C380+ is the bike you buy when your commute is Providence to Pawtucket to Warwick and back, not Fox Point to downtown.

The 27.5 inch wheels and Schwalbe Marathon Efficiency tires are the giveaway. That is a fast rolling, low resistance setup meant for covering distance on pavement.

Enviolo Heavy Duty, not the standard hub

Same stepless idea as the rest of the C380 range, twist and the ratio moves, shifts while stopped, no gears to count. The Heavy Duty version is built for the torque a speed motor puts through it. On a Gates CDX belt, there is nothing to lubricate and nothing to adjust.

The one thing we would change

At $6,399 it does not come with a suspension seatpost. The Ultimate C380+ at $4,999 does. The fork is a 75 mm Suntour Mobie 45 and it handles the front end fine, but Providence pavement works on the back end too. We fit suspension posts here and it is not an expensive fix, so ask us when you are in.

The other Eclipse

The Eclipse T11+ is $5,899 and runs an 11-speed chain instead of the hub and belt. Same family, same intent, $500 less.

Ride one on Brook Street
