Why the P00
The Tern HSD P00 is the most accessible way into a Tern cargo bike. Same rugged Gen 3 platform as the rest of the Tern HSD lineup, same 419 lb capacity, same 5-second fold, just built simpler and priced lower.
What makes the HSD P00 different
Instead of a fixed-speed internal hub, the P00 runs an Enviolo Heavy Duty stepless hub. No gears to click through, just twist the shifter and the ratio adjusts continuously, even while you’re sitting still at a red light with a full load. Paired with a Bosch Performance Line motor (75 Nm, 340% assist) and the Bosch Smart System, you get eBike Lock, ride customization, and over-the-air updates through the compact Purion 200 display. A Gates Carbon Drive belt replaces the chain, so there’s no grease to deal with and nothing to rust. Just hose it off and go.
Same hauling capacity, smaller price
The HSD P00 carries the same 419 lbs max gross vehicle weight as every other bike in the HSD family, with 176 lbs on the rear rack alone. Magura hydraulic disc brakes and a Suntour suspension fork keep it composed when it’s loaded up with a kid, groceries, or both.
It’s also built for tight spaces. The Physis Handlepost folds the bike flat in about 5 seconds, and when you don’t want it flat, it parks vertically. Tuck it into a corner or closet, or roll it through a hallway or elevator without wrestling a full-size cargo bike through a doorway.
The Tern HSD P00 comes in Spruce. If you want wireless eShift or the Sport-level build, check out the HSD S9i Sport, but if you just need a genuinely capable cargo bike without paying for extras, this is it.
